GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is legislation which determines how people’s personal data is processed and kept safe, and the legal rights individuals have in relation to their own data. It applied from 25th May 2018 to organisations that process or handle personal data, including schools.

The rules change the rights that you have in respect of your data. For further information on this, please see the ICO website https://ico.org.uk.

The rights are:

  • The right to be informed
  • The right of access
  • The right to rectification
  • The right to erasure
  • The right to restrict processing
  • The right to data portability
  • The right to object
  • Rights in relation to automated decision-making and profiling.

Enfield Local Authority has appointed a Data Protection Officer to work with all schools in Enfield to ensure that we are compliant. You are always welcome to talk to us about the way in which we gather, keep, store and share data and also view our policies and retention schedule below.

Data Protection Officer

Our school has appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO), who you can contact via email or post if, for example, you have an issue with our handling of your data that our school has not been able to assist you with. The DPO acts for a number of schools, so please ensure that you identify our school when contacting to avoid delays:
