Year 1 Forest Schools
The children in Year 1 have demonstrated high engagement and have become real explorers with their learning during their forest school sessions this half-term. We focused on the theme of Autumn and thought about what begins to change in our environment when the season of Autumn creeps in. The children explored the forest school area and collected Autumn treasures to make bookmarks, collages, leaf wreaths, leaf kites. In other lessons, they made pictures of a tree showing different parts (roots, trunk, branches, leaves) using natural resources. Lessons also included activities such as making music by collecting rain drops, minibeast hunting, snail races, acorn fairies and many more. The sessions concluded with a reflection time, story and, of course, a little song and a warm drink around the fire pit.
